Jordan lived in East Africa for ten years and it was during this time that, at the age of seven, he started clarinet lessons at Kenton College Preparatory School in Nairobi.  When he was ten years old, he won the Junior Category of the Young Musician of Kenya Competition.

Jordan returned to live in the UK in 2004 and became a pupil at Monkton Senior School in Bath where he held a major music scholarship.  There, he studied with David Pagett and achieved success in a number of competitions including winning the IAPS Young Musician of the Year in 2006.   In 2007, he won the Two Moors Festival Young Musicians' Platform Competition and the Premier Award of the Mid Somerset Festival.

In 2007, Jordan was offered a place at The Royal College of Music Junior Department where he studied clarinet with Guy Cowley.  At the Royal College of Music, he won the Marjorie Humby Memorial Competition in 2008 and the Peter Morrison Concerto Competition in 2010. As a result, Jordan performed the Copland Clarinet Concerto with the Royal College of Music Junior Department Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Richard Dickens in March 2011.

In September 2009, Jordan became a student at the The Purcell School for his Sixth Form studies. In May 2010, Jordan won the Croydon Music Festival's Concerto Competition for Advanced Students. He also appeared at the Wigmore Hall as both soloist and chamber musician.

Jordan was delighted to premier a piece for solo clarinet and backing track which had been written by a winner of the BBC Young Composers' Competition.  Having recorded the backing track, Jordan performed the piece at The Royal Albert Hall in November 2010.

Jordan was Principal Clarinet of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for the 2010/2011 season playing under conductors such as Vasily Petrenko, Kristjan Jarvi and Vladimir Jurowski.

Jordan has participated in clarinet masterclasses with Jean-Marc Fessard, Julian Farrell, Barnaby Robson and Howard Klug.

Jordan currently studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Timothy Lines.
