Hannah Innes was born in 1992 in Winchester and began studying the cello at the age of five with Michael Mace. She was a member of the Royal College of Music Junior Department from 2003 until 2009 as an ABRSM Scholar, becoming principle cellist of the sinfonia and symphony orchestras, while participating in competitions, choirs and several different chamber groups. In her first year at the RCMJD, Hannah performed solo at the Cadogan Hall, and in her final year, she was awarded the Freda Dinn and Ida Mabbett string prize. In 2005, Hannah became a student of the Razumovsky Ensemble, through which she travelled to Spain and Norway, before playing in a master class at the Wigmore Hall. Hannah was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain from 2006 until 2009, performing in venues such as the Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall. She joined the Purcell School in September 2008, where she held a scholarship under the government's Music and Dance Scheme. During her time at the Purcell School, Hannah performed Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations with the school symphony orchestra and gave a solo recital at St Martin in the Fields, as well as chamber music recitals at the Wigmore Hall. In 2009 she gave a performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Aylesbury Symphony Orchestra. Hannah has also performed at prestigious London venues such as St John's Smith Square, Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Royal Festival Hall. She currently studies cello with Robert Cohen, and has studied piano with Lidia Amorelli and singing with Tom Marandola through the Purcell School. Hannah has gained a scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she will be continuing her studies in September 2010.
