Danny Lewis began studying the violin at the age of 4 with Rebecca Boyle. When he was nine, he gained a place at the Junior Academy of Music in London and has been learning there with Lorraine McAslan for the last seven years. Two years ago, he won an award from the Associated Board for his performance in grade 8, and last year he won Watford Boys Grammar School 'Rosebowl' trophy, awarded for the best performance in any class during their two day annual music festival. He co-leads Watford School of Music youth orchestra, and at the age of thirteen was one of the youngest students ever to join the Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra. In 2010, he led the Watford School of Music string quartet which participated in the third National String Quartet event at Chetham's. He has studied and performed concertos by Wieniawski and Kabalevsky. Danny's musical interests also include a particular interest in the development of 20th century music from late romanticism
